TFME sponsors regional educational programs and leadership workshops for health care professionals. We are proud to partner with the The College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia to present a yearly course in Communication and Pain Management. We also have selective intensives in clinical leadership and professional coaching.
Our Annual Events
John Kitzhaber, M.D. Lectureship on Healthcare Policy
This lectureship and dinner focuses on issues related to economics and public policy in healthcare. The Foundation established this lectureship to honor Dr. Kitzhaber’s nationally recognized contributions to the citizens of Oregon as State Senator and Governor through his pioneering leadership in legislating the Oregon Health Plan.
Annual Chronic Pain Management Symposium
This one-and-a-half day course builds the knowledge base and skills necessary to work productively with the most difficult chronic pain patients, patients with complex chronic pain. Optional half-day sessions are offered in cognitive behavioral therapy and advanced intereviewing skills. Most attendees are from the American and Canadian Pacific Northwest.
Annual Physician Well-Being Conference
This annual conference is an opportunity to interact with others who are doing similar work, to exchange program and curriculum ideas and to begin to study and develop positive methods of re-engineering the work settings of northwest physicians to promote their well-being and personal growth.
