Timothy Goldfarb, MHSA
President
Tim joined the TFME team after a long career in hospital leadership, including nearly 3 decades as chief executive officer in health systems in Florida and Oregon. He and hospital administration were a good fit. Both his mother and father were polio victims and Tim literally grew up in a rural hospital in Northern Arizona. There he experienced how dependent a rural community is on a hand full of physicians, nurses, technicians, secretaries, food and environmental service staff. The health and well-being of those health care professionals had a direct impact on the access and quality of patient care provided to the small towns and ranches scattered throughout the region. The Foundation is dedicated to keeping those staff well so that they may keep the community well.
Ellen Singer, M.D.
Medical Director
Ellen is a dually board certified internist and pediatrician with 28 years of clinical experience in primary care and urgent care. She attended medical school and completed her combined residency and chief residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Ellen began her career in Oregon at OHSU in 1995 and joined Northwest Permanente (NWP) PC in 2001. She has served as medical director of several large clinical practices and was the NW Permanente Ambulatory Internal Medicine department chief from 2012-2018. Ellen has trained as a Narrative Medicine Facilitator with NW Narrative Medicine, as a Co-Active and Positive Intelligence coach, and with the Harvard Program on Negotiation. In late 2022 she retired from her primary care practice with NW Permanente and began a new career as a physician development coach with Legacy Medical Group. She continues to work in Convenient Care with NW Permanente. Ellen has a longstanding interest in training and improving clinical communication skills, improving medical education and helping others learn and grow in leadership skills. She values the opportunity to create conversations about health care sustainability and delivery in our community through TFME’s educational offerings and regional collaborations.
Eden Bainter
Managing Director
Eden joined TFME in May 2023, where she supports TFME leadership, operations, and programs. Eden also manages the Oregon Wellness Program (OWP). The Program has seen tremendous growth and now provides services to all physicians, physician assistants, podiatrists, acupuncturists, nurses, nurse practitioners, certified nursing assistants, licensed practical nurses, dentists, dental hygienists, and dental therapists who are licensed in Oregon.
Eden has over 15 years’ administrative experience in healthcare systems. Most recently, she was a project manager and business intelligence analyst for Northwest Permanente PC (the physician group for Kaiser Permanente NW). She enjoys making connections between big ideas and smart implementation. For many years she was education director for the literary arts nonprofit, Wordstock, and helped execute their annual literary festival, the largest celebration of writers and readers in the Pacific Northwest. She has also collaborated with the Oregon Women’s History Consortium, Willamette Writers, and the Montavilla Farmer’s Market. After growing up in Walla Walla, WA, she studied government and women’s studies at Smith College. Eden is also a board member and program coordinator of the Northwest Narrative Medicine Collaborative and coordinates their monthly workshop series.
